    Week 7 Monday status check

Week 7 so far has dropped 200 entries from the Circa 1K contest, which sounds like a gentle week if you ignore the emotional roller coaster over the Broncos-Giants game (we'll come back to that in about 10 seconds). Heading into Monday Night Football, 85 entries hang in the balance—34 on Detroit and 51 on Seattle. Over in the Grandissimo contest, entries have mostly sailed through W7, except one that is at risk tonight if the Lions fall.

    Epic Sunday Sweat

The wildest moment of the weekend came in Denver, where the Broncos staged a highly improbable comeback. The entire NFL Survivor world was watching as the home team trailed behind until late in the game. 90% of the field was feeling smug about this pending upset. Suddenly, the prayers of the other 10% were answered when the Broncos woke up and exploded to notch 22 unanswered points. Denver's chances held on tight when Giants kicker Jude McAtamney missed his second extra point, leaving New York up just two. The Broncos had less than a minute to drive into field goal range, which they did through full-force plays by Marvin Mims and Courtland Sutton. Wil Lutz made the game-winning chip shot to make the final score: Broncos 33, Giants 32.

All 33 of the Broncos' points came in the 4th quarter, which not only compounded that sweat but also put the game down in the books with gold stars around it.

Now, all eyes turn now to tonight's doubleheader. Tampa Bay visits Detroit, followed by Houston at Seattle. We'll be watching to see if those 85 Circa 1K entries stay alive.
