The three most popular survivor pool picks this week all came through without much sweat. Green Bay stood up to Cincinnati and the Flacco story, 27-18, with Josh Jacobs fighting through the flu to rush for two touchdowns and 93 yards as the Packers came back strong from a bye week to build a comfortable lead. Pittsburgh cruised to a 23-9 home victory over Cleveland, with Aaron Rodgers throwing for 235 yards and notching two touchdowns to set the pace. Meanwhile, Las Vegas broke a four-game skid with a dominant defensive performance in a 20-10 win over Tennessee, holding the Titans scoreless in the first half and countering Cam Ward's offense throughout the afternoon.
The biggest survivor casualties of Week 6 went down on Thursday night when the reigning Super Bowl champions (that's right, the Eagles) suffered a surprising 34-17 defeat at the hands of the NY Giants. Rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart played the best game of his young career, going 17-for-25 for 195 yards and a score, and adding 58 rushing yards and another score. The Giants scored five offensive touchdowns against the Eagles for the first time since 2012. A critical 4th quarter interception return by Cordale Flott set up an exciting Cam Skattebo score and sealed Philadelphia's fate, killing what had appeared to be a safe survivor bet for those who burned the Eagles in Week 6. A few other bold souls lost entries with their hopes on Dallas or Jacksonville, plus a handful of lone picks other non-favorites.
All in all, this has been a relatively relaxing week for Survivor players compared to the chaos of Week 5.
Tonight's action features two intriguing Monday night matchups with some survivor implications. 71 entries in Circa 1K are riding on the Washington Commanders as they host the Chicago Bears, while 9 entries have taken the roadie Buffalo Bills as they travel to face the Atlanta Falcons. After these games end and Week 6 closes we will be able to fully reflect on where we are after last week’s survivor-quake. Join us tomorrow on Game Winning Drive for more assessment.
