Farmer Mikey9/3/2025
Most mornings I’m in the parlor with 170 goats. We’ve got a 24-stall setup, and its 8 minutes a turn. If everyone behaves, I can finish in under an hour. That’s the rhythm: steady, repeatable, and just unpredictable enough to keep me sharp.
Now I’m jumping into Splash Survivor trying to win $2.5m. Not exactly milking time, but the pressure feels about the same. Thousands of entries, one wrong move and you’re finished.
Survivor reminds me of the farm. You can get into a groove, but all it takes is one bad kick and the whole bucket goes flying. Same thing here: one wrong pick, and you’re out.
A few lessons I’m bringing from the barn:
The obvious one isn’t always the safe one. The goat that looks calm is usually the one ready to bolt. Same with NFL chalk. If everybody’s on it, maybe that’s the danger.
Plan ahead or pay later. If I burn through hay in September, I’ve got a long winter staring me down. Survivor picks work the same way. Blow your good teams too early and you’ll be starving when the real cold weeks hit.
Stay steady under pressure. Goats can smell panic. Opponents in a contest can’t, but the outcome’s the same if I lose patience.
I’m not walking in with a secret formula. I’m just a Maryland goat farmer trying to play smart, stay patient, and maybe milk a little luck.
The sun’s coming up now. Goats are waiting. And so is Survivor.
