Another Sunday that cleared wide swaths of the field

As anyone following in the slightest will know, Sunday October 18 took a big old whack at NFL Survivor entries.

The headliner outcome was on an evening game that ended with Arizona 18, Los Angeles 16. The Rams started off as 12.5-point home favorites, and the single most popular pick across every survivor contest we track. The Cardinals, however, walked in and tore up the expectations. The Rams' new kicker being injured in the first quarter was just the beginning in a series of unfortunate incidents for the favored team, and the Cardinals took advantage.

During the early afternoon games, a healthy slice of both Circa Survivor and Splash $21M players were on Indy, the alternative for many who tried to save elite teams (or holiday teams in the case of Circa). But as the afternoon progressed, the previously winless Titans went to town and walked out 26-20 winners, taking their first victory of the season.

And so: more than half the remaining field was chopped yesterday in most of the big contests. Circa Grandissimo, the $100,000-a-bullet contest, is down to seven entries, with one of them riding on San Francisco tonight.
